Part 7: Accessibility Workflows

Accessibility workflows vary widely depending on available tools, staffing, and the goals of institutions and organizations involved. This chapter considers a sampling of workflows taken from both the author and publisher side of document creation. Author workflows are included because you as a scholarly communication practitioner may have an opportunity to consult with faculty members and students early in their writing process. Even a small nudge can make a difference in moving authors toward workflows that take accessibility into consideration.

Note, as always, that these case studies do not cover the breadth of workflows in use but merely provide a sampling of options. You will need to consider whether one of these options suits your institution’s needs and available resources.
