Reflection Questions

Let’s say a faculty member comes to you with a set of PDF documents they’d like to turn into an open educational resource for engineering students. The PDFs have no descriptive tags for math equations, no logical reading order, and no alt text for images. The professor wants help adding his notes to Pressbooks by next month, when the next semester of classes begins. When you bring up your accessibility concerns, the faculty member says he has no time to make any changes and accessibility is a niche issue for only a handful of students. What conversation do you have with the faculty member? What strategies or resources do you use to make your point?

What strategies or points made in this chapter seem especially relevant or useful for your campus environment? How might you go about applying these ideas to your own work?
