Chapter 5: Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders

Chapter Overview

In Chapter 5, we will discuss matters related to obsessive-compulsive and related disorders including their clinical presentation, diagnostic criteria, epidemiology, comorbidity, etiology, and treatment options. Our discussion will include obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), and hoarding disorder. However, it is worth noting that trichotillomania (excessive hair pulling), and excoriation disorder (excessive skin picking) were recently added to the new obsessive-compulsive and related disorders section of the DSM 5.
